There are five common skin types: normal, oily, dry, combination, and sensitive.
To put it simply, your skin type is determined by how much oil the pores on your face produce. You can have two or more types of skin on your face – for example, you might produce a lot of oil around your nose and chin, but your cheeks are really dry.
- Normal skin Isn’t too oily, too sensitive or too dry – it’s well balanced.
- Dry skin: Can’t feel rough and look ashy. There might be areas that are flaky, scaly, peeling or itchy. Your skin can feel really tight after you have washed it. – Try using a deep moisturiser overnight all over your skin.
- Oily skin Is usually shiny and gets greasy throughout the day. You may have blackheads, pimples or other spots on your face. Try using oil-free or water-based products, it will help.
- Combination skin is a mix of skin types. Most of the time your T-zone (the forehead, nose and chin) is oily but the skin on your cheeks is dry.
